Commonly used in joinery, dovetails are well known and very popular among artisans and cabinetmakers. Since the 1/2"wide x 14°bevel dovetail router bit is a pretty standard size, Microjig® chose that popular dimension to design its new Matchfit™ clamp.
At first sight, the Matchfit™clamp looks like most other bar clamps used in a woodshop except that it has no fixed clamping jaw. Its rigid forged rail ends with a dovetail profile fixed arm.
By routing dovetail grooves using a dovetail router bit, you will be able to create your own clamping tracks virtually anywhere. By containing the Matchfit™ dovetail clamp arm within the dovetail groove, you can exert versatile clamping pressure without interfering with the operation.
Because the clamp fixed arm seamlessly slides through the track without being limited by the rail like traditional clamps, this breakthrough dovetail clamp arm design gives you all the freedom to make your own creations. Build extension fences, edge guides, tables, workspaces and personalized track systems. You will no longer be limited by the edge or by the height.
Its soft grip handle and its protective cushion pad allow quick and safe fastening. The clamp is reversible and can even be used on templates.
