Website Programmer - Coquitlam / Telecommuting
KMS Tools in Coquitlam is looking for a website programmer to maintain
and make improvements to our fast-growing ecommerce and forum website.
Potential candidates must have, in addition to strong PHP and CSS skills,
excellent communication skills, and a track record showing good understanding
of expectations and ability to meet those expectations.
We are also potentially looking for an application programmer to rewrite
a content management application which takes information (advertising copy,
categories, quantities, prices, and specials) and exports it from a local
database to our website. Although we are looking at Microsoft Silverlight
as a development environment, other suggestions will be considered.
Because this position comes with flexibility in work location, it would
be ideal for a student or recent grad. Availability by both phone and email
is important.
Job Description
- Recommend and implement security patches and changes
- Make changes to .php based shopping cart and forum software

Track down and debug errors

Investigate and make recommendations on software and
content management system changes

High ethical and confidentiality standards

High level of proficiency and grammar in English

Canadian citizen/eligible to work in Canada

Experience with e-commerce or the tool industry is a
plus

Knowledge of the LAMP (Linux / Apache / MySQL / phpMyAdmin)
web development environment is a plus

Knowledge of .php and .css programming languages is a
must

Familiarity with Zen Cart and vbulletin is a major plus

Primary Responsibilities
- Effectively and professionally answer department phone calls from customers.
- Help in store customers with their questions.
- Create and track special orders for customers.
- Must be able to navigate through computer programs such as Microsoft
Outlook, Excel, etc.
- Educate customers on promotions, services or events each month.
- Respond professionally and communicate effectively at all times to customers
providing exceptional friendly service.
- Manage all complaints as a form of feedback that can help us improve
our service.
- Stocking shelves and putting overstock away is a daily requirement.
- Prepare departments for monthly and weekend sales events.

- Previous sales experience (2+ years preferred)
- Knowledge of tools and the tool industry is an asset.
- Able to stand for long periods of time as well as lift 50lbs.
- Detail oriented and able to work with little supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
- Self-confident, personable, energetic personality Must be punctual,
dependable and hard working
- Available to work Saturdays is a must, as well as be available to accommodate
a flexible work schedule the remainder of the week
- Willing to work overtime as needed.
