A lot of ticketed welders swear by this tool. Although you can purchase other die grinders for around twenty to thirty dollars, in most cases, you get what you pay for. This Ingersoll-Rand die grinder is great for chewing up welding spatter - among other applications. The biggest reason most customer choose this die grinder is that it is extremely durable and just plain lasts longer than its cheaper counterparts. The 1/3 horsepower is plenty if you have a decent compressor to back it up. You can cut through pretty much any material with this tool - metal, plastic, or wood - or you can even us it for polishing. One welder tells us that he can run this grinder at 90 PSI, but he recommends 125 PSI for superior performance. This is a heavy duty die grinder, so do take precautions for your own protection. If you are working with metal, please wear the necessary safety googles, a mask, and long sleeve shirt. Even though this tool has a quiet motor, it gets loud once you hit metal.
