When it comes to durability it is still hard to look past Makita’s rugged lineup of tools. Makita knows how to make a quality tool; they have designed and manufactured motors for over 90 years. With their armatures balanced to twice the industry standard, it is no surprise Makita has one of the finest balanced motors available. The Makita FS4200 drywall screwdriver is yet another example of their quality.

There are a few things a drywall screwdriver needs to be in order to get industrial approval. For many trades people the most important question is, how does the drywall screwdriver feel in my hand? If you are using a drywall screwdriver for 8-10 hours a day, you need that tool to feel as if it is not fighting to get our of your hands.

So here’s the deal, all drywall screwdriver’s are designed for the user to grip from the back in order to push directly behind the screw which increases precision and stability. Makita has made this with a large variable speed trigger and maximized rubber backing with an ergonomic shape, which makes it one of the nicest drywall screwdrivers to hold. On top of that, the Fs4200 screwdriver has adjustable depth for consistent screwing, a bit holder just in case the one you are using gets dull and a LED light. At the end of the day, the Makita FS4200 drywall screwdriver is a great product at a great price!

“Thanks again so very much for your generous heart to go to the nations with the gift that God has given you. This is a big thing that you and your company is doing for missions like ours. An old pile of tools that are just in a bucket in the corner of a cluttered garage seems like nothing to us, but is actually valuable income potential to a man in the third world trying to feed his family. Tools can be very costly essentials to a missionary trying to help a small community or orphanage. The tools given to us today were far from an old pile of tools in a bucket. This was a great and valuable gift of badly needed tools for both building projects and equipping craftsmen still working with tools from the stone ages. This is the kind of generosity that separates people and companies who are just busy from those who are busy making a real difference.

Thank you again for your contribution to the work we are doing in Haiti.”

- Mike at New Generation Ministries

New Generation Ministries is a faith-based, non-profit charitable organization that exists to “come along side” the people of Haiti to help them help the poor, the hurting, the needy and the orphans.

This is our first look at the new Makita Grease Gun Attachment, which just arrived here today at KMS and has everyone pretty excited. The big difference between this gun and the Milwaukee M12 Grease Gun (, for example, is that Makita has mounted its gun attachment on top of a drill. The T-01797 fits nicely on top of any drill/driver due to its rubberized clamping mechanism. This means that it does not matter what type of drill it is used with – corded or battery operated, as long as the width is a minimum of 1-1/2″ and a maximum 3″. For anyone with only a few tools in the garage, it can also fit on an impact driver.

The design seems excellent for a grease gun, due to how nicely it operates with any variable speed trigger, allowing for feathering. Makita might have hit a homerun with this one, offering a powerful fully automatic grease-dispensing unit at a great price.

Here are some of the Specs from Makita:

• Fully Automatic Grease Dispensing
• Pressure Vent Protector prevents pressure overload for maximum operator safety
• 18” Hose Length
• 3 Filling Modes – 14 oz. Grease Cartridges, Bulk or Bulk Dispenser
• 4,000 PSI Recommended Working Pressure (8,000 PSI (+/- 500 PSI) Maximum Rated Pressure)
• Tool Holder accepts tools with a body diameter of 1-1/2″ – 3″
• Features 1/4″ Hex Drive Shank for quick attachment to power tool
• Can be operated with Cordless or Electric Driver-Drills, Hammer Driver Drills*, Impact Drivers and Impact Wrenches+
• Optional 12″ Grease Hose (Part No. T-01812) and 24″ Grease Hose (T-01834) available

Senco is another brand joining our already huge arsenal of tools. Senco with it’s new Fusion 18V brad nailer is a leading innovator. Being small, lightweight, and easy to hold, the Senco Fusion F-18 is a solely battery-operated brad nailer that is just as convenient as it is powerful. The F-18 is a great solution for a tradesperson or anyone who does not want the hassle of a compressor. Understandably, most professionals are cautious about trying a battery-powered brad nailer, but rest assured, this brad nailer is not like any other. Generally, battery-powered nailers don’t seem fast enough to keep up with the professional due to the nailer’s ramp-up time but the Senco Fusion overcomes this problem. The Senco Fusion F-18 has is NO ramp-up time and NO gas cells to buy. Their patented reflex shot design provides an instant shot when the trigger is pulled. The heart of the Fusion technology is the permanently sealed drive cylinder, which gets its driving power from compressed nitrogen in an enclosed system. After the driver is released, the motor takes the power from the battery to push the driver back into place in just a fraction of a second. This reduces the power needed from the battery, allowing an impressive 600 fires per charge. The F-18 is lightweight, weighing just over 6 lbs. With a nose-mounted LED light, adjustable belt hook, thumbwheel depth-guide, and selectable drive switch to quickly go from bump fire to sequential operation, the Senco Fusion is a great new item for anyone needing the portability and convenience of a cordless nailer.

After years of installing windows and doors and trying many of the brad nailers available, I would use the F-18 in a heartbeat. At the end of the day, all a person has to do is try it out and they will be convinced that the Senco Fusion is a game-changer. The F-18 has the power of a pneumatic tool, combined with the convenience of a cordless.

Looking for an air hose that has zero memory and lays flat, even in extremely cold temperatures? Also need it to be kink-resistant under pressure? Impossible, right? Well, think again. Flexzilla is the new air hose king. Created with Hybrid Polymer Composite materials, Flexzilla redefines the flexible air hose category. This game-changing design has passed extreme all-weather testing and is proven best in class for flexibility, even in sub-zero conditions to -40C. The product also offers rugged zero memory abilities, allowing the hose to lay-flat so it won’t work against you during operation or when coiling after use. With superior flexibility for tight radius bends, Flexzilla air hoses are engineered for use in environments where rubber hoses are just too stiff.

To add to these great features, Flexzilla allows for field repairs in seconds. By using specific anodized aluminum fittings, a user can easily repair a damaged hose or splice two hoses together in just a few seconds. You don’t have to get four or five different tools out to do it, either—just push the hose onto the barb fitting until the hose reaches the threads, and then slide the bend restrictor to the threads on the fitting. Just use a wrench to tighten, and you’re done. It’s that simple. Using an air compressor for any job just got easier with this air hose: it will finally work with you, not against you.

There are three different categories of books: the Trade Reference Series, the Code Reference Series, and the Exam and Certification Series (which is more geared towards the US market, though still can be useful). The make and shape of the books don’t look the same among the series. For example, the Code Reference books have a flat metal binding and are 5” x 8”, while in the Trade Reference series, the books have a traditional binding and are 4” x 6” with pages that are laminated in order to be flexible and yet still water and oil resistant. All series come with full color diagrams to find and navigate references clearly and easily. The entire series is made with the end user in mind and can be extremely helpful for anyone in a bind.

Here is a list of the books DeWALT has published so far:

Ever since the advent of the job site, there have been trades-people trying to put a jobsite radio on them. With the way technologies rapid changes and grows, the way most people listen to music changes every couple of years. CD’s, cassette tapes and even in many ways the radio are no longer. The main way the modern trades-person listens to music is with an mp3 player. The innovators at our favorite power tool companies have done a great job to keep up with technology trends. Though the list of features can seem endless, with subwoofers, battery chargers, satellite radios, and 1/4″ aux plug-ins we thought it would be a good idea to compare the features of some of the best jobsite radio’s out there so you, the consumer, has an idea of how they stack up against each other. No jobsite radio’s were harmed in the making of this article.

At first glance these auto body blocks look at little different than most automotive sanding blocks. Each “block” contains three ridged rods that slide in and out of the the foam handle, with a metal underbelly PSA sanding paper. By adding or removing the flex rods in different configurations the user can change the “pressure to flex-ratio” to fit most curvatures; giving the auto body professional a variety of rigidities in only a single block! This design provides “even-contact” for sanding high-crowned fenders and body work, preventing flat spots.

What’s more? The base-plates are made from tempered spring steel and recessed into the foam to prevent the metal edges from damaging any body work which gives the entire block the strength and flexibility to keep its shape. The AFS Sanding block makes the job easier by creating a curve to pick out lows that might not be seen in the lighting of a shop with only the naked eye.

And if you are in a real bind for even more flexibility, some of the auto body professionals out there might want to know it is possible to cut slits in the foam handle at every inch. This continues the rigidness by way of the rods, but gives a more flex in case a complex situation comes up.
